Project Bookmark is a grassroots group that was started in the fall of 2002 by two RGNPA (Rose Garden Neighborhood Preservation Association) board members, in order to increase neighborhood school enrollment of local families.  Project Bookmark's goal is to increase our local schools' appreciation and enrollment by working with parents, teachers, community members and the district through a win-win solution for our neighborhood families.

Based on feedback from neighborhood families, we partnered with
San Jose Unified School District to develop a kindergarten parent  participation program.  In 2005, the first kindergarten PIE (Parent Involvement in Education) program was started and was extremely successful.  In 2005-6, the program will be expanded to include more grades at Trace Elementary.
