Volunteer opportunities for the PIE
(Parent Involvement in Education) program.
In enrolling in the PIE program, families would agree to contribute at least 40 hours of volunteer time to the PIE program and/or to Trace School. Families can take on a variety of jobs to fulfill this 40-hour volunteer expectation. Volunteer opportunities would accommodate different schedules and interests. For example, hours can be contributed at home or at school, during school hours as well as at night and weekends. These are just some of the volunteer opportunities that could be possible:
Volunteer Opportunities That Can Be Done In the Classroom/At School:
· Arts and Crafts (Help lead arts and crafts activities in class.)
· Bulletin Board Support (Help set up bulletin boards in class and school-wide.)
· Cooking (Help lead cooking activities in class.)
· Clerical Support (Xeroxing, stapling, etc. for class and/or school office.)
· Club Organizers (Lead special student clubs like Robotics clubs, sport teams, etc.)
· Computer Committee (Maintain, Update and Troubleshoot school computers. Lead design of school website.)
· Field Trip volunteers (Attend field trips.)
· Gardening (Support with gardening events either in-class and/or for the school.)
· Historian/Yearbook
· Library Support
· Science (Help lead science activities in class.)
· Social Committee (Organize family events for PIE program and/or the school.)
· Special Events Coordinator (Support with classroom parties, special events, etc.)
· Volunteer to assist students (in class, in after-school Reading program, etc.)
· Yard duty assistance

Volunteer Opportunities That Can Be Done At Home and/or At School During Evenings or Weekends:
· Book Orders (Organize book orders in class.)
· Clerical Support (Xeroxing, stapling, etc. for class and/or school office.)
· Computer Committee (Maintain, Update and Troubleshoot school computers. Lead design of school website.)
· Curriculum Support Committee
· Family Communication Support (Phone tree/Assist with calling families)
· Field Trip Coordinator
· Fundraising Committee
· Gardening (Support with gardening events either in-class and/or for the school.)
· Historian/Yearbook
· Home/School Club
· Performing Arts Production Support (Help make sets and/or costumes, sell programs during productions, make production programs, etc.)
· PIE Executive Board Members
· School Beautification Support (Attend school beautification days- assist with campus cleaning, gardening, maintenance, etc.)
· Social Committee (Organize family events for PIE program and/or the school.)
· Special Events Support (Assist with school-wide and kindergarten special events like school carnival, book fairs, family nights, etc.)
· Student Site Council
